TaDo Privacy Policy

Tail Wind Labs LLC ("we," "us," or "our") operates the TaDo mobile application and associated services (collectively, the "Service"). TaDo is a gamified task management application within the Tail Wind Labs ecosystem.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service. By using TaDo, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account Information (via Breeze)
TaDo uses Breeze, our centralized authentication platform, for account management. When you sign in, the following information is synced from Breeze:
- Email address, username, and display name
- Avatar/profile photo URL
- Account role, active status, and test user designation
- Last login and last synced timestamps

1.2 Task and Productivity Data
- Task Lists: List names, types, colors, and icon selections you create.
- Tasks: Task names, descriptions, completion status, points, priority levels, categories, due dates, completion timestamps, and soft-delete records.
- Subtasks: Subtask names, completion status, and sort order.
- Countdown Timers: Duration settings for timed tasks.
- X-Things Tasks: Target counts and current progress for count-based tasks.
- Recurring Rules: Recurrence patterns (using RRULE format), streak counts, and best streak records.
1.3 Gamification and Economy Data
- Points: Task point earnings, point transaction history with amounts, types, and descriptions.
- Currency: Your Gust (TaDo currency) balance and transaction records.
- Streaks: Current daily streak, best streak, last active date, and total active days.
- Challenges: Daily, weekly, and monthly challenge progress and completion records.
- Achievements: Milestone achievements unlocked (task counts, streak milestones, point targets, challenge completions).
- Shop Purchases: Items purchased including color themes, task multipliers, icon packs, list templates, and profile badges.
- Unlocked Features: Theme customizations and task feature upgrades you've purchased.
1.4 Preferences and Settings
- Appearance: Theme mode (Light, Dark, System) and accent color selections.
- Security: Biometric login preference (enabled/disabled).
- Notification Settings: Preferences for task reminders and challenge notifications.
1.5 Automatically Collected Information
- Device Information: Device type, operating system version, app version, and unique device identifiers.
- Usage Data: Feature usage patterns, screen views, session duration, and interaction data.
- Analytics: We use Firebase Analytics to collect aggregated usage statistics.
- Crash Reports: We use Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash logs, stack traces, and diagnostic data.
1.6 Notification Data
- Push Notification Tokens: Device tokens for Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver notifications.
- Scheduled Notifications: Task due date reminders and recurring task notifications configured through Flutter Local Notifications.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information to:
- Provide task management: Create, organize, and track your tasks, lists, subtasks, and recurring items.
- Power gamification: Calculate points, maintain streaks, track challenge progress, unlock achievements, and manage the in-app shop.
- Deliver notifications: Send task reminders, due date alerts, and challenge updates.
- Personalize your experience: Apply your chosen themes, colors, badges, and feature preferences.
- Improve the Service: Analyze usage patterns, diagnose and fix bugs, and develop new features.
- Ensure security: Authenticate users via Breeze, detect unauthorized access, and maintain service integrity.
- Communicate with you: Respond to support inquiries and provide service updates.
- Deliver advertising: We may in the future display advertisements within the app. Any advertising-related data collection will be disclosed in updates to this policy.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following circumstances:
- Within the Tail Wind Labs Ecosystem: Your user identity syncs with Breeze for authentication. Your Gust currency balance is reflected in your Breeze wallet.
- Service Providers: We share data with vendors who perform services on our behalf, including hosting (Railway), analytics (Firebase Analytics), crash reporting (Firebase Crashlytics), and push notifications (Firebase Cloud Messaging).
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
- Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred.
- With Your Consent: We may share information when you provide explicit consent.
4. Data Retention
We retain your data as follows:
- Account data: Retained until you request account deletion.
- Tasks and lists: Active tasks retained for your account lifetime. Soft-deleted tasks are permanently removed after 30 days.
- Points and transaction history: Retained for the lifetime of your account.
- Streaks and achievements: Retained for the lifetime of your account.
- Shop purchases: Retained for the lifetime of your account to maintain unlocked features.
- Analytics data: Retained per Firebase's default policies (up to 14 months).
When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
5. Data Security
We implement appropriate security measures:
- All data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS encryption.
- Authentication handled via Breeze with JWT tokens and short-lived access tokens.
- Optional biometric authentication (Face ID, fingerprint) for enhanced app security.
- Rate limiting on API endpoints to prevent abuse.
- Secure local storage using Flutter Secure Storage for sensitive credentials.
- Service-to-service communication authenticated with internal API keys.
No method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Your Rights and Choices
6.1 All Users
- Access: View all your task data and account information within the app.
- Update: Edit your tasks, lists, and preferences at any time.
- Delete: Delete individual tasks and lists. Request full account deletion by contacting support@tailwindstud.io.
- Export: Request a copy of your task data by contacting support.
- Notifications: Manage notification permissions in the app settings or device settings.
6.2 European Economic Area (EEA) Residents — GDPR Rights
If you are located in the EEA, you have additional rights under the GDPR:
- Right of Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Right to Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Right to Erasure: Request deletion of your personal data.
- Right to Restrict Processing: Request limitation of data processing.
- Right to Data Portability: Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Right to Object: Object to processing based on legitimate interests.
- Right to Withdraw Consent: Withdraw consent at any time.
Legal Basis for Processing: We process your data based on: (a) your consent, (b) the necessity to perform our contract with you, (c) compliance with legal obligations, and (d) our legitimate interests (security, service improvement).

6.3 California Residents — CCPA Rights
If you are a California resident, you have rights under the CCPA:
- Right to Know: Request disclosure of personal information collected.
- Right to Delete: Request deletion of your personal information.
- Right to Opt-Out of Sale: We do not sell personal information.
- Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate for exercising your rights.
7. Children's Privacy
TaDo is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal data from a child under 13, we will promptly delete that information. 9. International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and maintained on servers outside your country of residence. For EEA, UK, or Swiss residents, we ensure appropriate safeguards like Standard Contractual Clauses are in place.
10. Push Notifications
We may send push notifications for task reminders, due date alerts, streak warnings, and challenge updates. You can disable push notifications in the app settings or your device settings.
11. Local Data Storage
TaDo stores data locally on your device for offline access and performance, including cached tasks, preferences, and authentication tokens. Authentication credentials are stored using platform-secure storage (Keychain on iOS, EncryptedSharedPreferences on Android). Uninstalling the app removes locally stored data.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new policy within the app or sending a notification. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
